Petfinder puts homeless pets and people together. There are ads for missing pets, and a list of shelters (that did not work).
If you are interested in the laws and enforcement that underlie animal humane treatment in Pennsylvania, check the Federated Humane Societies of Pennsylvania. These folks lobby in Harrisburg as well, and our organization is a member of this group.
Petsmart is a pet supply company that also helps our Humane Society to place animals. They have a location at the Washington County Mall. You will often find dogs and cats from us available there.

American Kennel Club. This organization has a list of breed rescue groups. You can contact these breed rescue groups if you want to adopt a particular breed.
NetPets, an internet pet group with a list of breed rescue groups. NetPets also sponsors the MilitaryPetsFOSTER Project to foster pets for overseas military families.
This site discusses arthritis in dogs and cats, and is part of the Arthritis and Glucosamine Resource Center for humans. These folks promote the use of glucosamine to cure joint problems. Balance this information with a visit to the vet.
PA visitor's net has links to activities for visitors to our state. They were kind enough to add us to their site.
The ASPCA has a very neat site, with information on pet care, animal poison control, and animal abuse by organizations that use animals for show (circuses, etc.), along with other information on cruelty to animals.
SitnScoop offers pet care services in the Pittsburgh, PA area, but also represents Western PA Animal Rescue.
