Sometimes, users of Internet Explorer (IE) find that they do not get the latest copy of our dogs or cats pages. These pages are updated frequently, and IE has been set so that it takes the page from its cache of old versions of this page, rather than spend the time updating the browser. The simple way to move past this problem of looking at an out-of-date page is to clear the cache (Delete Files).
You can go into IE Internet Options via the tools menu and clear the cache (Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files), or you can simply click the following link, which runs a JavaScript program to do this automatically. Just click the link below. A window will appear, with a button that says "Open." Click the "Open" button, then click "Yes" at the next popup window and your IE cache will be cleared.
This script works only for IE. It has been tested with IE version 6, but may work with older and newer versions as well.
For our more computer-comfortable viewers, you can, instead of clicking "Open," click "Save" and put the file iecache.js anywhere you want on your computer, perhaps on the desktop. If you ever want to clear the IE cache, even if you are not looking at our Humane Society site, just go to the desktop and click the icon for the iecache.js program.
For the ultra-super-geek viewers who are also interested in our Humane Society, you can click on the icon just mentioned, iecache.js, and drag and drop it on the Links area near the top right corner of IE. Now, if you want to run the cache-clearing program, just go up and click Links and select Shortcut to iecache.js.
