The Humane Society of Greene County is dedicated to finding loving homes for homeless dogs and cats, what we like to call a "forever home." Many people meet their new best friend at our shelter and we would not be able to accomplish this without one of our most important resources--our volunteers:
the Humane Society's Volunteer Program has a number of options available to enable humans to help our furry friends. There are options for those who wish to work "hands on" with the animals in our care, as well as positions for those who prefer to work off-site in the community on behalf of our animals. To help us right away, here is a list of supplies that we need. Many of these items are used up regularly, and we always need them. At the bottom of the page is a list of what your contribution of money will buy if you decide to help us that way.
When you are ready to support us with your time and effort, here is how we employ our volunteers. You may be surprised at what we need, so even if you have short blocks of time, or want to work at home, we may have a way for you to help the shelter.
