 | Oopie is a female, ten-year-old, domestic medium-hair. Oopie came from a loving family that had to give her up because their daughter was extremely sick. She is good with men, women, and children and would make a great family pet. Because her front paws are declawed, Oopie needs to be an indoor cat. She has a great personality, loves to have a good time, and particularly enjoys riding in cars.

 | Lilly is a spayed, female, silver tabby. Lilly is a stray that just came into the Humane Society, and so far we love her! She is always one of the first cats to draw attention from visitors. We are not sure how she behaves around other animals, so she needs someone willing to get to know her. Nevertheless, Lilly will reward you as one of the most lovable cats you could have. |
 | Lucy is a female, spayed, year-old, domestic short-hair. Lucy came to us as a stray with two kittens, who are now both adopted. She is the only one left, and desperately wants a good home. She is playful, loving, and good with other cats. However, she has never been around dogs and would be best in a house without them. |
 | Louie is a three-year-old, male, domestic long-hair tabby. Louie has his fair share of bumps and bruises, literally. He was brought into us after being hit by a car. The bumps and bruises are only on the outside though. He is extremely loving and very friendly. Feed this guy some canned food, and you will immediately be on his good side. |
 | Muffin is a male, six-month-old, domestic long-hair. We found Muffin one morning in the dumpster outside the Humane Society. He is very sweet, friendly and loves toys. He will make a great pet for anyone willing to dedicate some time to get to know him. |
 | Missy is a spayed female. This is Missy, a 1-year-old Tabby close to our hearts. She is very laid back, but loves toys that dangle. She is good with other cats. She is not good with dogs, and will do best in a house without them. |
 | Ivy is a spayed, female, domestic short-hair, two-year old. Ivy was brought to the Humane Society in November as a stray. She is another staff favorite – very mellow and an endearing face. She has no problem with other cats, and will make a great pet. She is not very playful and pays no mind to balls, but will cuddle in your lap if allowed. |
 | Jesse is a female, spayed, domestic short-hair, one-year-old. Jesse surprised us all at the Humane Society. She lived in a cat colony with little to no handling until someone brought her to us. We were expecting to dedicate enormous amounts of time and effort to socialize her. But as it turns out, Jesse has a great personality. She is going to make a great pet. |
 | Julie is a spayed, female, tabby who is one and a half years old. With black-tipped ears and piercing blue eyes, Julie is beautiful both inside and out. She has lived with other cats, and does great with them. She is endearing, and wants nothing more than to be picked up and loved on. She would make a great pet for anyone. |
 | Koshe is a spayed, female, domestic short-hair, 13 years old. Koshe was living the perfect life until her world turned completely upside down. Her loving owner passed away, and with nowhere to go, Koshe ended up with us. She is great with other cats, and would manage in a house with them. Despite her age, Koshe is healthy. Because we want to see her in a good home, the Humane Society is offering Koshe at a reduced adoption fee. |
 | Isabelle is a spayed, female, domestic medium-hair, who is 13 years old. Isabelle is as elegant as her name. She is the friendliest of the four cats brought into the Humane Society after their owner passed away. She is not very playful, but loves sitting in laps and cuddling. Isabelle is in incredible health and available for a reduced adoption fee.

 | Greta is a spayed, female, six-month-old, domestic short-hair. Greta is a playful little girl that loves her catnip! Since she was eight weeks old, Greta was fostered in a house that familiarized her with other cats, dogs, and people. The staff would like to see Greta and her brother, Gulliver, stay together, so the Humane Society is offering both Greta and Gulliver for the price of one adoption. |
 | Gulliver is a neutered, male, 6-month-old, domestic short-hair. Gulliver is the brother of another one of our tenants, Greta. They both get along great with other cats, dogs and children. They love eating catnip and playing with toys. We would like Gulliver to stay with his sister, so the Humane Society is offering both Greta and Gulliver for the price of one adoption.

 | Christy is a spayed, female, one-year-old, domestic short-hair, calico cat. Christy is a cute and lovable year-old cat. Before she came to the Humane Society, she lived in a litter of four or five other kittens. No one was feeding them, they were malnourished and none of them were socialized. Christy has come a long way since then, and although she doesn't like to be held, will make a good pet. She is good with other cats, but if Christy had it her way, she would go to a house without them. |
 | Cupcake is a spayed, female, three-year-old, domestic short-hair. Cupcake came to the Humane Society with two other cats, Cassidy and Chief. They were rescued from poor conditions, and are looking for a new home. She is quiet and reserved. She will need a quiet home to match her personality--one that will assure her that she is safe. Time and love will help her adjust to any family. |
 | Chief is a male, neutered, two-year-old, domestic medium-hair. Chief is one of three cats rescued from poor conditions. When he finds a comfortable spot, he typically curls up and falls asleep. He is very reserved, quiet and calm. Time and love will help Chief adjust to any home or family. |
 | Cassidy is a neutered, male, two-year-old, domestic long-hair. Cassidy is a sweet boy that loves to lounge around and watch what is going on. He was rescued with two other cats from poor conditions. Because of this, he is pretty quiet and reserved. Time and love will help Cassidy adjust to any family. |
 | Carmella is a spayed, female, two-year-old, domestic short-hair, tabby and calico. Because Carmella lives with her brother, Centour, she is extremely affectionate. She is playful, and will certainly follow you around the house and twine through your legs.
|
 | Centour is a neutered, male, two-year-old, domestic short-hair. Centour is a little less playful than his sister, Carmella. He often lets her have the attention, while sitting back to wait for his turn. He will keep his distance at times, but only for a short while. He knows what he wants, which is usually canned food. If given the chance, Centour will eat it before you set it down. |
 | Annie is a five-year-old, female, domestic long-hair. We have found that Annie is good with other cats, but she is not very active. She is more laid-back and reserved. She has some skin allergies, and will require an owner dedicated to grooming and care. |
 | Here is Bernie, a ten-year-old neutered male, domestic short-hair tabby. Bernie was given to the Humane Society with four other cats. They all were living the perfect life until their owner passed away. With cynical--maybe even sarcastic--eyes, Bernie has one of the most interesting Garfield personalities. He is most content sitting back and watching the show. Bernie is in perfect health and available at a reduced adoption fee. |
 | Carlotta is a year-old, spayed, female, domestic long-hair. Carlotta is one of the most unique cats we have ever seen at the Humane Society. There is truly no way to accurately describe her. From her face to her personality, she is truly a one-of-a-kind. Request to see Carlotta to find out what we mean! |
 | Shelley is the momma kitty of Shawn, Sheena, and Shelby. She is a two year old domestic short-hair. She enjoys lounging, cuddling, and keeping an eye on her busy babies.
|
 | Mistletoe is a gentle two-year-old, black and white, domestic short hair adult, up to date on vaccines. She arrived with a litter of kittens. As is usually the case, all of your kittens found homes and she has been at the Humane Society for many months. |

Here is an update to a classic mathematical story. You have two (2) cats, a male and a female, and they have a litter of four kittens in 1999, and you do not sterilize the kittens. Let's say that there are two males and two females. Not knowing the biblical and social rules, these offspring mate, and in 2000 there are three litters of four kittens, one from the original parents, and one from each of the two pairs of kittens. Now you have 18 cats (six to a family, two parents and four kittens). Now it is 2001, and the same thing happens; you now have 54 cats. Does the story take shape in your mind after only three generations?
Spring is the season for doin' what comes naturally, for adolescent humans and all cats. We can persuade or threaten the humans, but those cats.....
If you know someone who has kittens they don't want, please don't let them just toss the kittens out on the street. Get them to contact us. Perhaps we won't be able to find homes for all the kittens, but you won't find them and their offspring on the streets in another year, suffering and causing a problem, or flat.
The shelter has many, many kittens and cats this time of year. We encourage everyone to spay and neuter their pets so that all animals will have good homes and not have to make any shelter their place of residence. In the meantime, stop by to see these lovely kitties who desperately need homes.

We end our partial listing of homeless cats and kittens with a comment
about fur color. You may wonder why there are so many mixes, and part-this/part-that
cats. These animals are the result of non-neutered parents mating on their
own, and delivering kittens that have no homes. It is difficult to control
your pet for its entire life. If you do not expect to breed your pet for
offspring, please spay (female) or neuter (male) her or him, so that we
will not have to put your unwanted kittens' pictures on these pages, begging
for homes. Call us if you want more information about the particulars of
spaying and neutering. If you think you cannot afford spay/neuter, please call us about your situation.
